The south coast of Mallorca stretches from the southern part of S'Arenal on Playa de Palma to the small harbour town of S'Estanyol, which visibly marks the border between the south and southeast coast of Mallorca with its yacht club and the fishermen's houses lined up along the coast.
Despite its close proximity to Palma and the airport, the south is relatively sparsely populated and has only a few tourist attractions. Rocky coastline and unspoilt beaches, quaint villages and hidden coves - this part of the island is full of contrasts. At the same time, it radiates a certain gentleness. With an annual average of 17 degrees and the lowest rainfall, it is the warmest part of the island.
These are just some of the factors that make property for sale in the south of Mallorca so attractive.
The range of properties on offer is as varied as the region itself.
Rustic and mediterranean fincas with fantastic countryside views, inviting terraced houses in well-kept residences and modern semi-detached houses with private pools characterise the picture. But you can also find seafront villas or in 2nd line. In exclusive locations, some are even designer and luxury villas.
In addition to some new build properties, there are also a few building plots for sale in the south, some with sea views.
The most popular places to buy property are Badia Blava, Cala Pi, Sa Torre, S'Aranjassa and Puig de Ros.
The main town of the municipality of the same name, Llucmajor, is located around 15 kilometres from the coast and is the heart of Mallorca's south. The traditional town with many houses from the 1920s and 1930s also has one of the most beautiful market squares on the island. But it is not only interesting from an architectural and historical point of view. Historic Llucmajor also offers its visitors unusual shops, small cafés, cosy bars and inviting restaurants. On three days, the town also attracts visitors with a typical weekly market.
Like a fjord, surrounded by rocks and pine trees, the picturesque bay of Cala Pi welcomes visitors with crystal-clear water and fine sand. Here you can sunbathe, swim or simply relax, sheltered from the wind and waves. If you want to follow in the footsteps of pirates, the round watchtower of Cala Pi dating back to 1662 invites you to do so.
This beautiful bay is also the starting point of a popular hiking route to Cap Blanc, with fantastic views and a fascinating panorama along the way. Cap Blanc is magical, with the most amazing cliffs and the lighthouse as a landmark. Built in 1862, it is considered one of the most beautiful lighthouses on the island.
Other marvellous viewpoints can be found in Son Veri Nou, Maioris, Puigderrós, Sa Torre, Badia Blava and Badia Gran.
Back to the past? Near Cala Pi, in the village of Capocorb Vell, the Feuerstein family sends its regards. Three round and two square houses remain here from one of the most important megalithic settlements from the Bronze Age. The remains are surrounded by smaller extensions and ruined foundations.
